"Slow but sure..."
On July 25, 2003 I FINALLY hit my 50 lb mark. It took 14
mos. to accomplish, but I did it. I have gone from a size 18 to an 8 this June. I would still like
to lose about 7 more lbs but I'm also comfortable staying where I am!
Currently I am maintaining my 50 lb. loss by eating 27-36 pts/day.
It is still a daily struggle but I have finally realized that in order for me to keep the weight off I will have to track
my pts. ~ for a lifetime...

Although this is my first time losing weight with Weight Watchers, I previously lost 50 lbs. 5 years
ago by eating 1200 calories per day and exercising a minimum of 3 hrs/wk. It didn't take long to gain it all back plus
10 more. Weight Watchers has helped me make sure ~ This time is for a lifetime!
This is what worked for me, remember everyone
is different, but I've been very happy with my results.
- My original pt. range upon joining WWers was 22-27. Upon losing 25 lbs, they lowered my range to 20-25. For
the next 4 mos. I lost only 4 lbs.
- On 1/31/03 I put my pt. range back to the original range of 22-27.
- Stealing from the Wendi Plan, I have one SHD (Super Hi Day - approx. 40-60 pts.) ~ almost always my WI (Weigh In)
day which purposely is a Friday.
- I DO NOT eat my AP's (Activity Pts.) but I do keep track of them. I shoot for 12 AP's/wk.
- I avoid starches like pasta, bread, cake, muffins, rice, etc. (think Atkins).
- I get a lot of my pts. from dairy, i.e., cheese sticks.
- I reserve 2 pts for 2 Viactiv and 6 midgee tootsie rolls/day ~ When I awaken in the morning the very first thing I
do is have a chocolate Viactiv with some flavored decaf to cut the cravings. After breakfast and after lunch I have
2 midgees with the decaf and end my day with the last Viactiv and the last two midgees. Sometimes a little bit goes
a LONG way!
- I make sure to record pts. honestly, i.e., 1 Skinny Cow is 2 pts. but 2 Skinny Cows are 5.
- I have NO MORE than 1 zero pt. food a day if any, otherwise I count it as 1 pt.
- I have rediscovered herbal teas and found there are SO many varieties out there that help quiet my stomach at the end
of the day to avoid after dinner munchies.
- I have been actively participating on the WW Message Boards, specifically doing challenges on Challenge Central.
In particular the "Alcohol Busters" challenges that involved cutting back or cutting out alcohol, since for most of us on
board, drinking wine, beer, martinis, etc. and eating more, go hand in hand, not to mention the decreased desire to earn
those AP's.
By July 25, 2003 I hit my 50 lb. mark ~ slow but sure. I actually achieved this goal by eating 27 pts everyday which
is the only way I was able to stick with the program.

Sticking to the Program has positive results in ways other than the scale!
